Gordon Biersch

Fun Microbrewery

Review Rating
Gordon Biersh is a good restaurant but a great microbrewery. The food is definitely good enough for a party, special occasion, or working lunch, but the beer really shines. You can't miss the vats on the way in, so you can look at your beer's voyage to your glass. There is a large bar and an outside deck, but they are usually very full, particularly on Fridays, when the work crowd comes. Valet parking is around the corner on Angeleno and there are some spots for street parking, but they fill up quickly.

The seasonal beer menu has three constants: a hoppy pilsner; an auburn, slightly sweet marzen; and a malty, dark dunkles. True to German form, centuries-old "purity" laws are followed, meaning only hops, barley, yeast and water are used.

A menu of fusion and New American dishes include beer-friendly offerings like shrimp and chicken pot stickers, Moroccan-spiced lamb chops and the signature garlic... more

Then when two extra guests happened to show up they said there was nothing they could do to accommodate us. We had to split up into two different groups. Then, the large party next to us left--we had been promised that table--and they gave it away to someone else. THEN, when... more

Gordon Biersch has an eclectic group of beers. They also have some of the best Garlic Fries in town. I first learned of this place in Sacramento with a group of colleagues. We all enjoyed our food and some really enjoyed the beer.
