Help us make it rightOutfitted in light wood with turquoise chairs and accents, this breezy Crown Heights dinner and take-out place serves Caribbean fare like jerk chicken, goat curry and smoked duck sausage with veggie sides from a vibrant open kitchen. The drink list is summer-ready, with cocktails, island-hopping rum flights and even a Dark 'n' Slushie with a ginger bite.
Wood-fired sandwiches on Franklin Avenue. White tiled walls and artfully uncomfortable salvaged chairs make for a hospital-chic dining room. House-jarred tomatoes and meats smoked on-site with Cabernet Franc vines set a tone for the menu. “Skate or Die” sandwich sees fried skate on a po’ boy, while “The Bubie” throws raclette on a classic Reuben. We had an amazing dinner at Glady's - seriously scrape-the-plate delicious. We travel frequently to Jamaica to visit friends and this was the closest to authentic Jamaican food I've had outside Jamaica. Everything was delicious. Service was great, atmosphere was great, drinks were great, and best of all - the prices were reasonable. A must-visit.
So, I hit Morris Truck (same people) at least once a week (it's outside my office in midtown), and live in Manhattan. I heard about Glady's opening in Brooklyn, and had to try it. I wondered if it would be worth the trip across the Bridge, and discovered
