Avoid THE BOB

Review Rating
While the food @ The BOB is good, and everything from the outside looks fine, I feel this place should be avoided. I worked @ THE BOB. Imagine yourself working somewhere that you had to about beg to get paid. When you would complain about it, they would change the rules. Turn in your "HOURS" on Monday to get paid by Friday. When you did'nt get paid on Friday, then it was turn in your hours on Friday to get paid on Wednesday. If you complain too many times, you don't have a job. I would BOYCOTT this place as I do.

Located in the basement level of downtown's Big Old Building, the Lower Level is a sophisticated haven with international flair. The moody decor, complete with cozy leather chairs offers microbrews, wines, and top-shelf martinis. World music and DJ-spun pop tunes get folks on their feet on weekend nights.

Taking its name for the building in which it's located, the BOB or Big Old Building, Bobarino's offers pasta dishes but specializes in wood-fired pizzas. Interesting combinations include the barbecue pork pizza, with pineapple, bacon, pulled pork and barbecue sauce; spring garden pizza with spring vegetables, fresh mozzarella, smoked provolone and herb oil; and portobello and goat cheese pizza... more

Gill's offers a wide variety of seafood selections, and features Grand Rapids' best raw bar. Traditional dinner entrées, like lobster tail, Bluepoint oysters and mahi mahi, share menu space with more exotic offerings including Hawaiian ono, sashimi marlin and alligator ribs. Those who prefer not to partake of seafood can order from the section of the menu headed Not Fish, which includes two... more

Judson's is one of six restaurants or bars located in the BOB, or Big Old Building, a restored warehouse set in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids. The restaurant is known for its steaks, of course, including a bacon-wrapped filet stuffed with Boursin and goat cheese and a monster 16-ounce prime rib. But those who don't care for steaks won't go home hungry. The menu also includes chicken, pork... more

There is something for everyone at the BOB (Big Old Building). This building is a host to multiple venues including dance clubs, a comedy club, a steakhouse, and a lounge. Each venue has its own unique style. There is plenty to do and the BOB is within walking distance of other local clubs, restaurants, and entertainment venues. Friday's is ladies night; ladies get in free before 11pm.

The club was okay. Three floors and three bars. Mostly live music where 2 or 3 different bands play simultaneously in different rooms. The bottom floor, called The Crush, often hosts a DJ who spins progressive house and trance between midnight and 2:00am. Staff, bouncers and bartenders very friendly. Club mainly attracted upper to middle class, crowd ages ranging from 21 through 70. Not... more
