The Gaylord Texan is huge! It is a giant hotel but its service isn't lost in its size. Great place for a staycation. Lots of amenities from the restaurants and the Glass Cactus on site to the historic Main Street area of Grapevine and the shopping and restaurants there to Grapevine Mills Mall to the Cowboys Golf Courseto Lake Grapevine and also hiking and biking trails. My husband and I wanted to go somewhere special for our 27th wedding anniversary. This place was a nightmare. The rooms were small and the balcony for viewing the atrium is so small it is not really safe for two people. The beds were rock hard! I can get this experience at a roadside motel and save hundreds.. Conference held there two years in a row - bad omen. First experience terrible.. could not get the room requested some pisspoor excuse about not having any.. 2nd year really pestered about the room type.. I got it but everything else was down hill.
