As we were seated in the Garden Cafe we were handed the menu, and the hostess raved about how great this menu was. (We were waiting for 2 more to arrive to our group.) As we were looking over the menu and waiting for the 2 more people to arrive, we had decided what we wanted. The waiter came over and said, "i hope you guys didnt get your heart set on anything on that menu, we change our menus at 2 o'clock, and its 2 o'clock." He then handed us new menus, with less options. When the 2 additions to our group arrived, we proceeded to order. I ordered the Cobb Salad with grilled chicken. After waiting 1.5 hours for our food to arrive, it finally came. My Cobb Salad barely had any dressing on it, and the grilled chicken was missing. I could have gotten a better salad at Wendy's. The waiter came over, and i said i wasnt impressed with the salad, and it was missing the grilled chicken (which was why i decided to order it in the first place). He said, "Well, i'll just take that off the ticket." grabbed the salad out from under me and quickly walked away. I didnt get an apology, or an offer of something different. I finished eating a BLT from another person in our groups plate. The Manager of the Garden came over and apologized in a very awkward way, then made small talk with the little guy that was with us. He then proceeded to give the little guy and his mom a free lunch. (The little guy said he enjoyed his cheese sandwich). I was not impressed by the service given!! For the Grand America Hotel, this was not worth the money, time, and empty stomach i walked away with!
