Located directly adjacent to the Pantages Theater, Bob's Frolic Room is a Hollywood landmark. Formerly Freddy's Frolic Room, Bob's opened in its place shortly after the repeal of Prohibition. The Room is a narrow, dimly lit Tinsel Town relic that has seemingly been untouched by time. Even the modern additions of a CD jukebox and two satellite TVs stand like anachronistic props within a classic...

This nicotine-stained serious drinker's bar sits right next door to the Pantages Theatre. Rumpled hipsters sidle up alongside old-timers and knock 'em back. If you like dives, this place is the real deal. (Isn't that Bukowski's ghost over there?)
The Frolic Room vies with Musso & Frank Grill for the most unusually fabulous wallpaper. Its equally nicotine-stained here, since it went up well before smoking laws took effect. The Frolic Room is your standard-issue old school Hollywood bar, peppered with a mix of rough-around-the-edges hipsters and old coots. The fabulous old neon sign beckons regulars inside for $2 popcorn and inevitable...

Theater crowds pack the place before and after shows. If you're a ticket holder, forget the pricey drinks at the in-house bar and head here for a quick drink.

The Scene The Frolic Room is for people who want to avoid nearby trendy bar scenes, but don't want to hang out with a surplus of professional drinkers. There are a few real pros lingering about here, but they are outnumbered by local hipsters and folks who think traveling anywhere east of La Brea is slumming it. The theater crowd from the neighboring Pantages hits heavily before and...

Lottery tickets, get your tickers here! No gimmick noir squalor classic for shots, jukebox, beer chasers, and transplants spellbound by their first L.A. dive. Location brings its share of weirdoes and 311 penned a song about it, but stone-faced bartender ensures no monkey business. Where Kevin Spacey went to search his soul in LA Confidential . It only got him gatted, so stay away from...

My favorite bar in Hollywood. Friendly bartenders, terrific jukebox, and great crowd. It's a great alternative to the trendy clubs in Hollywood. If you want to meet someone, it's easy to do there. Also, if you're looking to just drink and be left alone, that's pretty easy too! Drinks are reasonably priced to boot!
Pros
+ Great crowd, fun people watching, best jukebox in town.
my friend and i went to this bar. it is an interesting dive bar kind of place. there were some unique, slightly inebriated regulars there. the drinks were pretty cheap. its not a bad place to stop by but i wouldn't go to hollywood just to go here.
