As some of you have noticed, this is a very expensive store and, as I have discovered recently, there are two reasons for that: not only are the prices higher than other stores for the same merchandise but also some of the cashiers are ripping people off. I live in Cole Valley and shopping here is much more convienant than shelping to Whole Foods or Rainbow, BUT you do pay a price. Their produce is beautiful and always from local farms- something that I love supporting but their prices can be ridiculous. I have shopped for organic food all over San Francisco and have found that you will always get a better deal at Farmers' Markets or Rainbow,... more

I live a few blocks away from Real Foods and often stop by on my way home for the awesome fresh produce this store carries. At first I thought the cashier was having a bad day when I was being checked out but have come to realize that every time I finish my shopping and go to pay the service is downright rude.
