The original Palmer House was built just before the Great Chicago Fire of 1871 and perished in flames during the conflagration. This casual cafe, located in the Palmer House Hilton, serves cuisine inspired by the best of New Orleans. Open for breakfast and lunch only, there's a lavish buffet to get your morning off to a robust start.

This landmark hotel dates back to 1870. Rebuilt after the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, the Palmer House was the first hotel in the country to employ Alexander Graham Bell's phone, install the prototype of an elevator and use electric light bulbs. Located in the Loop, the hotel is well situated for business and leisure travelers, within walking distance of shops, theaters, museums and many of the city ... more

The longest continually operating hotel in North America (since 1871), the Palmer House was named for legendary State Street merchant prince Potter Palmer. The service was wonderful checking in, the concierge, the restaurant, security and the bell captain. Everyone was wonderful. The room was comfortable and very clean. Our only complaint was that the walls seemed terribly thin and there was an all night party in the next room. But when security was contacted they took care of the problem immediately. ... more

We loved staying at this hotel, it was quiet, clean and very comfortable. The room was a bit small, but it didn't matter as it was cozy and had all the amenities. The hotel is in a central location, with so much to do, it was quite easy to find our way through the city

Would go back everytime in Chicago

Ther service was great. I was there for a convention and was not familiar with the town. All staff was very helpful in suggesting restaurants and places to go. The hotel is beautiful and full of character. Location is a little sketchy but it is very close to major areas. I would definitely go back when in Chicago again
