This place was one of my favorites - went there at least once a month. Chef Alain was the French Affair Restaurant. He took great pride in his work and will be sadly missed.

Sad to announce Chef/Owner Alain Mons passed away 3/20/2014 and the French Affair restaurant is now closed. Staff and family wish to thank all Chef Alain's friends and customers for their support since when he opened Sarasota's first French restaurant in 1980.

This hidden gem in an old and neglected strip mall is worth the trip for fantastic service and incredible French food. Not appealing but worth to try. Great French cuisine

We went there after reading the reviews and knew that the decor wasn't great and it is true. But, it worth to go in, and try the great food. If you like French cuisine you will appreciate. The waiter was very nice. Good experience.
