My contractor purchased a open box knob/lock set at a reduced cost (because it had been opened) for $75.00. My contractor noted a small dent on the collar that covers the screws, this was another reason why it was sold to him at the reduced cost. The lock set didn't work on the door/gate that he erected so I attempted to return it to Fred's for a refund. The guy that sold the set to my contractor was the same guy that I was attempting to return it to. After looking it over he discovers the small nick in the screw cover and goes to the back to ask someone if it can be returned because of this nick (that was on the unit when my contractor purchased it). He came back and all he could say was "SORRY" can't take it back even though it was sold in this condition. Fred's fencing totally lacks any customer service. BEWARE of any dealings with this company and get everything in writing up front!
