Owners Kathy and Martin opened Kat & Me in June 2011. Martin moved from Wisconsin to the area and the pair had always dreamed of opening a coffee shop.

The shop sells hot cocoa, steamer, organic chai, espresso and coffee in addition to lunch. Lunch items include hot dogs, tuna salad, chicken salad, grilled cheese, bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwiches.

Fran's, on Main Street in downtown St. Charles for 20 years provides jewelry, handbags, chimes, candles and assorted gifts. Fran's also carries Franz porcelain and stained glass. Layaway is available until October.
