Fogo De Chao

Mmmm....Steak

Review Rating
Fogo de Chao has steak (and a lot more meat.) Numerous waiters with freshly cooked spits patrol the restaurant dolling out not just steak, but ribs, pork, lamb, chicken (spicy or covered with bacon), etc. There is also an impressive salad bar and wine list. This is probably the most meat-intensive meal you are likely to find, so don't come to Fogo de Chao expecting to find a light and dainty meal. The restaurant is great for parties, business means, family dinners or dates. It is dark, atmospheric and romantic without being over the top. There is a huge parking lot with valets next to the restaurant. Prices are actually quite reasonable considering the large quantities of food one is likely to eat.

Subtle earth tones, rich wood, and soft lighting set the scene at this authentic Gaucho steakhouse, which originated in Brazil. Large skewers of beef, lamb, pork and chicken are roasted over an open flame and carved tableside. Buffet-style salads and sides such as crispy polenta, sweet fried plantains and cheese bread accompany the signature meats. Traditional beverages such as Guarana, a... more

Churrascarias (Brazilian steak houses) are suddenly commonplace in L.A. and Fogo de Chão is one of the best examples of the trend, with an elegant spin on the traditional meat fest. Start at the buffet, helping yourself to salads and sides. Back at your table, use the marker to signal for service; turn it to green and servers dressed as gauchos arrive with beautifully barbecued meats, carving... more

In Short It's hard to miss the 27-foot tall wine cellar that juts high above La Cienega at this Gaucho steakhouse, which originated in Brazil. Inside, subtle earth tones, rich wood and soft lighting set the scene for the large skewers of beef, lamb, pork and chicken that are roasted over an open flame and carved tableside. Carnivore paradise which answers decades-old 'where's the beef?' query. Brazil's endless carnivale of grilled gaucho treats from all species in spacious, handsome hall of flesh-eating masculine suits. Don't bat an eye at the salad bar; a little meat'll do you good. Flip to green to keep the skewered fun coming; flip to red for Do Not Disturb: my coronary artery and I need a talk.

Now THAT's good eatin'!

If you're in the mood for beef, pork, chicken or all of the above, and have a HUGE appetite, this is the place to go! The food is great, the service is amazing, and did I mention the food is GREAT!

Try not to fill up on the salad bar, and save room for the main course! Order a bottle of wine, and enjoy.
But beware, it can get pricey there...but totally worth it!

I am astonished that there is only one other one star review on Citysearch for Fogo de Chao. I am completely and utterly floored. Honestly, is this everyone?s idea of a five star restaurant? Salty meat on a stick and a do it yourself salad bar for $56.50 per person!!!??? Are you all joking??? For two meals, two caipirinhas, a dessert and tax & tip, the dinner came out to $185! Yeah, you... more
