One hundred and fifty champagnes (20 by the glass) are just the beginning. Among the more unusual offerings is a sparkling pear wine (made from 300-year-old trees) that's russet-colored with a dry, subtle flavor. Downstairs is the sceney spot for groups, while the upstairs lounge--with a sprinkling of hideaway nooks--beckons couples. With crowds varying from sparse to dense depending on the... more

The bubblies go great with spring rolls filled with morsels of smoked salmon, goat cheese or crab, and small handmade chocolates (but skip the medicinal chocolate-cherry cocktail).

The Scene Sometimes a Flute is just a flute. And sometimes it holds champagne--lots of it. The Flatiron's triple-decker boite, designed with grown-up riffs on primary colors and a miniature "Chocolate Box" room (wrapped in a silk bow), appeals to youthful playfulness, albeit with distinctly adult perks. The Draw One hundred and fifty champagnes (20 by the glass) are... more

This place is one of the coolest bars in the Gramercy Park area. With romantic french décor and its eclectic range of music this happening spot is definitely one of my favorite hotspots in my neighborhood. Try one of their signature cocktails or have Andrew or Jason make you one of their own concoctions. BTW these two bartenders are the best at what they do, I go there midweek and cater to... more

Depending on the night Flute can be a mob scene or a really chill place. I prefer going on a weeknight when you can actually hear the person next to you speak. The wine and champagne selection is massive which gives both the amateur and the connoiseseur a wide selection. I would recommend this location for a group of friends, a date or even a birthday bash.

All is know is I will be there every Tuesday. There selection is abundant and the staff is friendly. I expected them to be a little stuffy because of the area and kind of lounge, but the atmosphere totally unpretentious and chill.... more
