Opens early and a place for donuts and pastries for the week or weekend. Also amazing cakes! I bought a plain one and decorated it myself just for fun!

Don't blink, because you could miss this place. Very small, not a sit around spot, but awesome old-fashioned bakery. Nice selection of pastries, cookies, and breads, with some wonderfully unique items, too. My fave- flakey almond pretzels! There's coffee, too. Not great, but there if you need it. I believe they do custom cakes as well.

The Flour Barrel has been an "institution" in Glen Ellyn for decades and seems to only get better with age.

Nestled in the heart of downtown Glen Ellyn, the Flour Barrel has supplied fresh-baked goodies to the citizens and neighbors of this village for more than five decades. The shop has a minimalist interior, but the glass cases are chock-full of sweets of all kinds, including cookies, cakes and pastries.
