This hipster-packed theme bar wistfully encapsulates a mid-century fascination with the namesake tropical paradise. Though not large, the space comes with pool tables, one of the best juke-boxes in town and a very relaxed patio. Get there early on weekdays for happy hour from 4-7pm. Perhaps best known for their "Church of the Bloody Mary," a fistful of house-made Mary mixers are on special,...
The Froom, as it's also known, is the original hip bar on Killingsworth. Others have propped up, but this bar remains the stronghold.
Order the $1 cans of Old German accordingly, just don't end up doing what very little hasn't been done in the photo booth.
In Short
The vibe in this diner-style drinkery is kitschy and '50s-inspired: Turquoise walls and a corrugated steel bar are accented by a pinball machine and jukebox. During warmer...
Excellent fries and tacos, mediocre banh mi. Pretty good beer selection and fabulous outdoor seating. Great atmosphere overall! Be prepared to order at the bar — table services will clean your empties, but doesn't take orders.
Shitty drinks, shitty service, greasy food, racist as fuck.
This is one of my favorite neighborhood bars. I'm not really sure what more one could ask for in a bar. This place has a covered front patio (as I am no...
Always a good place for meeting new people and good atmosphere. The food is reasonably priced, as well as their drinks. Only have an issue with one snooty...

If you've overdone it on the weekend, recover at Florida Room's "Church of Bloody Mary" Saturdays and Sundays. There are several bloody mary options and inexpensive brunch items including Voodoo Donuts' pastries.
Early-bird specials are offered daily from 4pm to 7pm, including 50 cents off well drinks and tap beer.
Service industry folks, remember to bring your OLCC (Oregon Liquor Control Commission) card or food handler's permit to enjoy happy hour prices all day.
