Be aware-Do not call Florida Home
Called to diagnose malfunctioning AC. The tech diagnosed a common "Blown Capacitor" ($28) problem to be a >$1000 problem. And then tried to convince me that the whole unit may need to be replaced ($15000 problem). Took deposit w/ promise to install parts in 3 days during the hottest time of the year. After getting deposit, rescheduled on the 2nd day. I sweated for 8 looong summer days.
Second opinion revealed the nasty scam. Canceled the service-call and complained to the Corporate office. Corporate office doesn't care, stopped all communication as soon as I sent a written complaint. They put a note on my account "No Refund" the day I called to complain and cancel the appointment.
Still fighting to get the refund back. Florida Home want me to give up the name of the company that actually diagnosed the system right and fixed it, suckers.
Call this company at your own risk. I got fooled by the full page ads in the local magazines. But, you have been warned.
Summary... (purposeful?) mis-diagnosis, no customer service, and desperate enough to eat complaining customer's deposit instead of investigating. Check their BBB ratings (F as in failure) before calling them, And yes they use three different addresses so look for the lowest score, or you will get fooled. Cunning, yes?
