Where Friends Come to Meet...Happily Serving the Community Since 1977 View Website Casual Dining Private Parties Sports Bar Flapjaws Cafe is back and ready to serve you. Located in the heart of the Gold coast, Flapjaws is a great place to meet friends and enjoy some food and drink. Start with an appetizer like the Cheesy Spinach Artichoke Dip served with fresh made tortilla chips. Next, move on to the 1/2 pound burger. It is certified Angus beef cooked to your liking. If pizza is more your thing, try the Chicago Thin Crust Pizza. The Taco Pizza is a favorite and includes salsa, lettuce, tomato, ground beef and cheese. If you are looking for something on the lighter side, try one of the Flapjaws salads. The Buffalo Chicken Salad is sure to please. Flapjaws Cafe is also the place to see your favorite sporting event on one of our flat screen TV's. Just 1/2 block from the Watertower on Wabash in Chicago, Flapjaws has been happily serving the community since 1977.

If your bargoing tastes fall somewhere between traditional sports bars and more upscale gathering spots, you'll feel right at home at Flapjaws Cafe. The bar may have moved from its original location (where it had been since 1977), but its low-key charm remains intact. The menu here holds everything from house-baked tortilla chips and $8 pitchers of Miller Lite to honey-glazed salmon and chicken ... more

The original Flapjaws Cafe, which was located at 22 E. Pearson Street, closed so Loyola University could build a new residence hall. The new Flapjaws outpost opened at 840 N. Wabash Avenue in early December. The menu is very simple and straightforward: thin crust pizza, sandwiches, salads, soups and appetizers.

This is nothing like the Old Flapjaws that I grew to love and remember from my grad school days. It's just a boring, cramped bar. Nothing special about it, really.

Boring atmosphere. Hapless service and below average cuisine. Nice try though
