Since Sunflower Bank's buy out of First National Bank 1870, the service and offerings have gone down hill. I am aggravated that they closed several of their locations, most specifically the branch on Gov. Miles Drive. A community bank is supposed to serve the community, but they have conveniently forgotten …

The ATM only dispenses 50 bills. The whole reason I get cash weekly is to buy small things from cash-only businesses.

Very good at recognizing you after just a couple of visits. Up-to-date, easy to use online banking tools. And I know it shouldn't matter, but I love the remodeled downtown branch with the restored art deco touches!

While the big national banks have definitely made their presence known in Santa Fe, it's nice to do business with a local bank. I know my banker, as well as the tellers, and now I have to say that it makes my day to go downtown to the renovated main office. The old John Gaw Meem art-deco touches, the light, all make me feel good! It makes sense to spend a little attention on the aesthetics in a place like Santa Fe. And, at least in my case, it pays, too!
