I have an emergency service company, and when my customers call, I give them the bottom line dollar amount before I leave to service them.
These guys quoted me $139.00 for new breaks for my van. They asked me the year, make, and model as well as the engine size to assure the accuracy of their quote. They said if I needed additional work that I would have to pay for that, which is understandable. I shopped around and got average quotes of $180.00 from 4 different shops. I called them back the next day and gave them the exact info, and got the same quote of $139.00. When I got there the manager verified the price at $139.00.
Upon further inspection of my brakes and rotors they came back with a total of $1,118.30 of which the break portion jumped from $139.00 to $184.00 a difference of $45.00 on the break portion alone. They then wanted me to apply for a Firestone credit card to pay for this service. I asked them why was I quoted $139.00 for the break service, and why was there a $45.00 difference. The sales rep said that the superviser quoted for a smaller engine size, and that was the reason. This may be the case, but on both days we were very specific about the type of vehicle, and size. one of the sales men seems to be on the up and up, but the other one is a bit shady Once you've waited on hour or so, and your vehicle is on the rack with all 4 tires off they bait and hook you into the actual price which will obviously more than discussed.
As I was leaving, another potential customer was leaving with a similar complaint. So I decided to write this review for your info.
Be careful, and pay attention when dealing with the Granada Hills Firestone.
