Business Description from the Web
The Figueroa Hotel’s Moroccan-themed Veranda Bar is a colorful haven of woven rugs, embroidered pillows and fabric-draped booths under the open sky. Laid out around the cool blue rectangle of the hotel pool, the Veranda Bar is a vacation-worthy oasis complete with potted succulents, glowing lanterns and fez-clad servers. At one end of the pool, an ornate wooden bar serves up the usual – beer,...

The Figueroa is one of the best deals in L.A. Where else can you get a one-bedroom suite with a wet bar, a silk-canopied ceiling, and handwoven Afghani kilims for under $200 per night? The downtown hotel—which began its life in 1925 as a YWCA—was decaying and depressing when the current owner, Uno Thimansson, began renovating the Andalusian-style architecture in 1976. Now, the 285 guest rooms...

This hotel, just blocks from the Staples Center , is a splash of color and nouveau-Moroccan chic coupled with Southern California accents in downtown Los Angeles. The hotel exemplifies funky style with its hand-painted ceilings, doors and elevators. Antique furniture, moody lighting, and truly exotic plants complete the exotic scene. Every room is unique in both style and design, and the...

The Scene Nestled discreetly inside the reinvented Figueroa Hotel, this spot is a refreshing reprieve from downtown's bustling streets. Pass through the historic hotel's exquisitely decorated front lobby and head upstairs to the comfortable yet stylish lounge. The antithesis of Sunset Strip hotel bars like Skybar or Whiskey Bar, Botero offers a mellow vibe, cozy indoor and outdoor...

The historic Spanish/Moroccan themed Figueroa Hotel alone is worth a visit. It is one of Downtown's most stunning architectural sites. Vineland bar is not as cool as we'd like it to be, but it's near the pool and getting more popular as the center starts to boom and the authentic culture of L.A. gets more recognition. Local business owners commune with resident winos, chic punks, and...

Downtown's original striking oasis spins authentic old L.A. stories under Moroccan majesty in dazzling lobby and plentiful rendezvous spaces. Suites bring the North African atmosphere to new heights, possibly fit for the Sultan of Brunei's underlings, while the man himself stays at the Four Seasons, turned off by the staff. Crazy private throw-downs for hire in the highly-cushioned Room Tangier...

I can spill my secret now that I no longer do business in LA, but will sincerely miss this hotel. We stayed here for years, it evolved from Santa Fe style to Moroccan since Staples Center went in and the downtown was cleaned up. The hotel manager gets bored and is constantly fixing it. Very well priced, and great location. Truly charming bartenders, and they always take good care of you! Hi...

we dropped by the bar at the hotel on the recommendation of a friend and despite the very empty saturday night street, were pleasantly surprised at what we found inside.
getting to the bar required walking through the ornate and exotic hotel lobby. entrance, indeed!
the bar is reminiscent of a resort bar with tables nestled into little pockets near the shrubbery around a coffin shaped,...

I recently attended a worldwide convention and stayed at the Hotel Figueroa. The hotel was chosen by a member of our group. When I read the reviews of the hotel I was skeptical but kept an open mind. We arrived in our room late at night. The hotel appeared dark and mysterious. I was surprised by the darkness of the room. It was very difficult to see while unpacking our suitcases, even after...
