Chris Hagan here: my Family has owned and operated several businesses on Festus Main Street since the 1960's
My children went to Festus R-6 school Dist and our daughter graduated from Mo State and our Son Attends the University of Missouri Columbia.
Festus and Jefferson County has been very good to the Hagan Family and I would not Trade this life for any other.
Public safety should be top priority in Festus. A 4-way stop sign is needed at Pounds & Hwy A due to the Pasta House traffic. A traffic light is an expensive option, but there is no point to wait until someone is killed before taking action. This has been a dangerous intersection for years, but now is the most dangerous in Festus.
I know chief Lewis has always treated me with respect and as an actual human being. We all make mistakes and kids and I was one of those kids. He jas always answered any questions I have ever had. He has also dedicated many years of service to our community and different organizations. I say leave the man alone and let him do his job that jas been done well in my eyes.
I would like to commend all the city workers that cleaned the streets after the recent ice & snow. They did an amazing job & deserve a huge pat on the back. Great job guys!
Please research "Type 1 Cold Water Corrosion" of copper pipes. There is a VERY high likelihood that this is what is causing the water leaks around town. It is a direct result of changing to the well water system. The chemistry of the well water (mineral content, dissolved gas content, and pH) cause this type of corrosion. This is a solvable problem, but must be addressed as quickly as possible.
