Using custom built Texas smokers, this restaurant in the heart of Allentown boasts the most succulent barbecued meats in the city. Run by restaurateur par excellence , Bob Mollot, the sports bar features pork, beef and poultry slow-cooked over low heat to produce that tell-tale red ring around the meat that spells "barbecue." It is a laid-back kind of place with pool tables, dartboards, and... more

Editorial Reviews from the web

Hip atmosphere, friendly service and luscious barbecue cooked for hours in an eight-foot smoker make Fat Bob's a favorite.

The Scene Some of Fat Bob's success is due to its location in a former stable between Allen and Virginia, but most of its success is due to its genuine, Texas-style barbecue. Half bar, half restaurant, patrons dine elbow to elbow at small tables on mouth-watering Southern specialties. The Food Fat Bob's down -home delicacies include comfort-food staples... more

Other Southern foods accompany barbecue on the menu such as starters like catfish fingers... more

If you have ever been to a great barbeque place in Texas, St. Louis or North Carolina stay away; you will only be be deeply disappointed. Aside from the terrible quality, size and taste of all the food, the prices are outrageous for such poor quality. The... more

This place does have the feel of a Texas BBQ and the food is adequate, but a far cry from Texas BBQ. Had the Texas Beef Brisket and it would qualify for the worst beef brisket in Texas, but still it was ok for WNY.

I have been here many times (wife says TOO many). Favorite is the Texas Beef Brisket but family loves the pulled pork and ribs. Appetizer favorite is the Mussels, a huge dish, but the real star are the side dishes, namely the Mac-N-Cheese. On 3rd owner but now quality is much more consistent and service is quick and efficient. Used to have live music and pool table but some things must... more
