Be prepared for crowds most of the time. The Marketplace can be incredibly congested on the weekends and during the summer months. Bring strollers for littler ones, but make sure it can handle those cobblestones.

There are a large variety of foods available from many small shops here. In general seating is limited and the marketplace is crowded. You may also run across minstrels and entertainers. A good place to go if you are not in a hurry.

Faneuil Hall Market place is a great place to go at any age. They have restaurants and a food court. They also have many unique stores and vendors around. I always enjoy going when ever I make a trip into Boston.
