I am new to the area, so I scheduled a "meet and greet" to choose a vet. I was swamped with brochures and recommendations for all kinds of shots and pills--this was a shock considering my previous vet limited my dog to just what was needed and didn't like to see animals on a lot of meds. We took our cat here once, and the vet wanted to give her shots for about 6 different things. I refused everything except the required rabies, and he pulled out all sorts of awful worms etc. preserved in jars and tried to talk me into all these extra shots for our perfectly healthy, indoor only cat. The final bill was also about $100 more than I expected. Now that we've switched vets I am...
