I drive 45 miles twice a month to buy their cheescake. Just try it and see why, and the neighborhood is a great place to walk down Court St. for some of the best Pizza slices great afternoon visit to take out of town guest who would never have ventured out of the typical tourist areas of Manhattan.

Ignore Juniors. Avoid zabars. Monteleones in Carroll Gardens has the BEST cheesecake! They have the marble, and the almond (dusted all around the outside) and the fruit - but the BEST is the classic brooklyn cheesecake in the big slab - they cut off how much you want. I love Monteleone's. Got to know it when I was spending a lot of time with clients in the Carrol Gardens (South Brooklyn) neighborhood.
