One of the Worst Experiences -- Stay Away!
Today, we went to the Enterprise office in Huntington Beach, CA. I was helping a 25-year old, who has a very short, but good credit history, a steady job but a fairly low income. She wanted to know whether she could finance a car by putting down 20-30% and, if she could, how much Enterprise would allow her to finance. We spoke with a guy called Bernard, who said he was their finance manager. He first gave us all kinds of vague talk. We asked what would be the worst case scenario, assuming her credit score is low. He said, 30% down and 19-25% interest rate. But then he said that he would give us a much better idea if he could run her credit report. After running her credit report, he commented that she had a very decent score (over 650) and became visibly interested, but he again refused to give us any more accurate numbers except to repeat that the interest would be in the 19-25% range. So, even though he confirmed that she had a good credit score, he "could not" improve the worst case scenario, even after she said that she was willing to put up to 40% down. Then he tried to take advantage of us by pulling another dishonest trick. He kept on asking how much she wanted her monthly payments to be. Obviously, the monthly payments can be the same while the interest rate and the amount paid out over the life of the loan will vary substantially. As much as we tried to deal with this guy honestly, he kept on lying and trying to trick us into his dirty used car salesman games. Fullishly driven by greed, he was trying to make a "killing"; offering a fair deal clearly was not his intention. If you can help it, AVOID this location of Enterprise. Obviously, Enterprise may have decent and honorable people working for it. However, the guy we spoke with turned to be a sleaezeball, and he is a manager there. When you meet him, he appears like he is a trustworthy guy, and that makes him more dangerous and disgusting. BOTTOM LINE -- STAY AWAY FROM ENTERPRISE ON BEACH BLVD IN HUNTINGTON BEACH
