Editorial reviews from the web (4)

"Satisfy that jazz itch" at this Warehouse District underground "speakeasy", "one of the sexiest little spots in town" and the "epicenter of the Austin jazz scene"; crowds squeezed into its "dark", "long and narrow" room sometimes make it "tough to get a drink", but if you're patient you'll soon be enjoying a libation while "stellar" musicians "tear up the stage", making the "cover worth it...

One of the few places where jazz is not dead. Praisers Wynton Marsalis and Down Beat magazine wouldn’t lie. Walk downstairs into the subterranean pub. Grab a booth in the darkness. Order a pint of European pilsner. Pull out your Moleskine and your Space pen. Inhabit your inner Kerouac. The crowd will pay you no mind. Not when a hep cat like Ephraim Owens is huffin’ and puffin’ onstage.

This downtown bar is a great setting for listening to jazz -- a cozy, softly lit chamber in the basement of one of Congress Avenue's old buildings. You have to be purposeful to get here because the Elephant Room entrance is a small door with a tiny sign, and the club isn't on Sixth or in the Warehouse District. The club lines up first-class acts, mostly contemporary jazz. The best night to go...

Well you may not notice this place since it's in the basement it's a fabulous setting to see live jazz. Everyone in the bar very polite. While I was alone it was mainly filled with couples. So I would suggest cool romantic spot

Dropped in here after dinner for a drink and to listen to some local jazz. It was incredible. Music (including the jamming session that featured high schoolers) was great. We didn't have a problem getting in, but I hear there were long lines in Saturday.
