New to Midtown West

At Empire Steak House, our passionate commitment to serving great steaks is matched only by our dedication to providing the highest-quality service.

Founded by Jeff Sinanaj, along with his brothers—owners of the storied Ben and Jack’s Steakhouse and former longtime waiters at Peter Luger's—Empire Steak House proudly brings the time-honored tradition of quality steaks to Midtown West.

Empire’s famous ‘porterhouse for two’ is a standout. Equally impressive are the succulent seafood dishes, superb side dishes, and knockout desserts.

Our great food is complemented by a wine list that is expansive, yet highly selective—and features many of California’s most sought-after vintages.

The room at Empire is also a highlight. A temple of glass and steel, large windows and ample light abound. The overall feeling is bright, warm and inviting…all perfect accompaniments to the delicious cuisine.

THIS RESTAURANT IS TEMPORARILY CLOSED Empire Steak House Restaurant Review

Though the name might suggest magnitude, this Midtown restaurant can be a relatively sedate affair. Part of the Ben & Jack’s team of steakhouses, Empire doesn’t try to reinvent the wheel. The menu is straightforward offering few surprises, which is by design. The usual cuts of meat are available, including a good thick-cut rib-eye and nice lamb chops. For the non red meat eater, Empire does a...

THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Artusi Restaurant Review

A handsome upscale Italian restaurant opposite the 21 Club, Artusi boasts a spiral staircase, mirrored walls and elegant surroundings. Its careful kitchen has seen a parade of chefs, but no slouches when it comes to careful preparation of classic Northern Italian inspiration. Service is also above the norm.

THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Anthos Restaurant Review

This Midtown eatery is hard to walk away from without wanting to come back for more. Familiar-on-paper dishes---like skordalia and moussaka---are wonderfully reinvented on the plate (chef Michael Psilakis has now left the restaurant). The assortment of meze is entirely raw-fish focused---think Greek ceviche where apple, green chickpeas and salty ramps sharpen scallops; and lemon confit,...

Minor League Steakhouse in the City of Major League Steakhouses

I gave Empire a try and that's all it'll get. I felt I was walking into a plain ol' restaurant and not a real NY steakhouse (ie. Sparks, Peter Lugers, Club A...etc). My advice: Get Real and you'll attract more customers on a Friday night...Bottom line:

So yum

This restaurant is one of a kind. Even though it's a steakhouse, I ordered their lobster ravioli special and my boyfriend had the filet mignon. we couldn't get enough of this surf and turf concoction. The waitstaff was very attentive and friendly. I can't

great steak

We went to Empire steak house for restaurant week dinner. The food was excellent, service was slow, the atmosphere was very nice and overall we had a great time. The Sirloin steak was unbelievable; the ousters for appetizer were great. The special wine fo

Delicious steak!

The steak here was absolutely tasty and it was nice inside. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the service was good.

NYCs great steakhouses

I've been to Empire Steak House on numerous occasions and have yet to be disappointed. The steaks are incredible. What separates Empire from all the other steakhouses is the service. I have been going there since they opened and noticed that they treat ev

Empire Steak House, conveniently located at 237 west 54 street near Broadway, showcases modern d cor in a classy, but trendy atmosphere. The all-white marble bar and sprawling dining room provide an additional air of sophistication. While Empire's steaks are acclaimed for its famous dry-aged porterhouse for two, the rest of the vast menu is equally stellar, featuring a wide range of fresh...
