This busy intersection is no stranger to wild times. The building that houses Emmit's once housed the valuable hordes of several prominent Chicago gangsters. The remnants of this era can be seen throughout the building. Along the years it has evolved but the spirit of old-school Chicago remains. In addition to the craziness, Emmit's is also a favorite location for Hollywood producers with... more

This gem of a place offers Irish specialties such as microbrews, shepherd's pie and Irish stew. Dark wood and forest green are the primary color tones, with a lighter tile floor and brick walls. There's a varied selection of scotches that you can enjoy while watching a game or listening to the piano player. They also have branches at Milwaukee, Grand and Halsted.

I love hanging out here whenever I get a chance. The food is not memorable, but the atmosphere is unbeatable. There is just something to the place that makes you feel right at home. Never been during the week, only Saturdays, and it's been both super crowded and very mellow. Great staff has fun and took great care of us. Must check it out!
