You'll be tempted by the tapas at this Streeterville eatery, from the team behind Emilio's (other location include Hillside). Its name means sun and snow, and the Spanish specialist serves a wide range of hot and cold choices, including grilled shrimp with garlic lemon butter sauce, baked goat cheese in tomato sauce, paella, among other fabulous tapas. The wine list features more than 60...
The tapas come from Emilio Gervilla, who owns another like-minded place in suburban Hillside. Generally speaking, the dishes fare well. There's a comfortable dining room and a nice bar worth settling into for sangría. Most of the usual tapas suspects are available: ensalada rusa, jamon y queso, pan con tomate. Small or large portions are offered, the choice is yours, which means you can spend a...
A "favorite" for "tip-top tapas", these "reasonable priced" Hillside and Streeterville sibs offer a "good diversity" of "well-made", "flavorful" Spanish dishes that are "both traditional and innovative"; "warm" servers and "informal" Iberian-themed digs replete with "in-demand" outdoor seating further explain why they're "go-tos."

Service was not good and waiter was inattentive and rude. Food was good though and for a holiday it was not crowded.
We enjoyed an early valentines dinner. Ambiance was great, it was a quiet restaurant. Victor was our waiter and he was outstanding! Food was delicious and a nice change from huge entrees. We ordered 4 tapas and had we not been stuffed we would have ordered more. Prices were extremely reasonable. I would totally recommend this place for a date night or an intimate dinner with close friends. Not...
This is by far our favorite tapas restaurant. We drive from Michigan to come here.
Great food and wine. Everything comes out to share with all at the table. They will recommend that you order 1-2 at a time and keep ordering until full! Excellent advice. They have hot and cold small plates as well as entrees. Delicious white and red sangria served with lots of fresh fruit added.

"If there's such a thing as Chicago's Tapas King, the crown belongs to Emilio Gervilla" Anne Spiselman, Crains Chicago Business "Emilio Gervilla does not just sell Spanish tapas food as a trendy profit maker. He sells it as part of a healthy way of life."Dimitra DeFotis, Daily Herald "This restaurant offers an unforgettable culinary vacation to a delightful part of the world that Chicago area...
Like many city downtown areas, finding an indie restaurant that's good, relatively inexpensive and accessible isn't easy. Nestled on bustling Ohio Street, Emilio's (as everyone here calls it) has a colorful interior (murals line the walls) and plenty of tables large enough for families and groups or small enough for an intimate dinner date. An outdoor patio is especially attractive during...
Know Before You Go: If paella is what you crave, make sure you've allowed yourself plenty of time to enjoy it. Preparation takes at least 30 minutes.
Where to Sit: The sidewalk patio is a comfortable--and popular--place to dine in the warmer months. It's first-come, first-served only, but you can bide your time by sipping sangria at the bar.
