Help us make it rightElysium has been serving Austin's underground nightlife since 2001, hosting and promoting live bands and other special events every Thursday and Friday night. We are located at 7th and Red River, downtown, and are open from 9:30pm until 2:00am, Tuesday through Sunday. Voted Best Dance Club 2003,2004,2005,2006 in the Austin Chronicle Readers' Poll, Elysium is a haven from the everyday.
Hosting Austin's alternative nightlife since 2001.
"Nightcrawlers" and those "feeling Goth" collect at this Downtown dance club, an "underground" scene "painted entirely black" where "there's always a fog machine running"; enthusiasts swear by the "electronic and emo" tunes, both live and DJ'd, as well as the "awesome" '80s theme nights, but there's also "quite a large area away from the dance floor" for those who'd rather just have a drink and...
In Short
Touted as Austin's industrial and gothic haven, the label does not soon disappoint the eclectic Red River crowd. This particular location has hosted a number of underground dance...
The ONLY club I frequent in Austin. Been going regularly for 4 years. Love the people, the music, the atmosphere. Favorite night is Saturday, love my regularly scheduled Haven.
Here's the skinny - Saturday is goth/industrial, Sunday is the best 80's night around and Wednesday is where Saturday and Sunday meet. For all other nights, I recommend checking the calendar. Their events are pretty diverse, but usually a good time regardless. Halloween and other dress-up theme nights are a win!
I may be a bit biased because I've been going there since it opened, but the staff at Elysium is the best around. The owners are great people and really care about their customers.
The thing I like most is the non-judgmental attitude of the place. Everyone is welcome, in an...
I don't always make it to Austin downtown for my nights out but when I do I can never pass up a night in Elysium. The people are fantastic and fun to talk to from the doorman Jimmy to the bartenders and DJ's.
You have to swing by the bars and make yourself at home. You won't regret hanging out in Austin's best Goth bar.
If you can make to one of the 80's nights they are legendary good times but any night you show up always feels a little special.
Elysium is a second home to me. At some point since coming to Austin I have walked in the door of every club at least once, but Elysium is the only one that keeps me coming back.
The Sunday 80's nights are amazing. While Elysium is ""the"" goth club of Austin, on Sundays nights you every cultural walk of life.
I love the music and the bands. I've worn masks with DJ Boba Fett on the dance floor and shared drinks with DJ Pumpkinspice.
The couple of times I drank myself stupid, I was told I was done. Even though Jimmy scared me a little he's a great enough guy you can't help but stop and...
I just had to stop in for a friends gathering some time back and the door man was a bit scary ""Jimmy"" I was really surprised how cool every one was in that bar. Usually I have to worry about a butt head bartender or some guy spilling my drink and wanting to fight... Not here. Everyone looks like they might have issues, but if they do they left them at the door with Jimmy ""who once you get to know is a nice guy and it is great if he has ur back"" I have gone back time and time again for the retro nights, goth nights even some crazy parties they have put on there... Every now and then it...
