This place serves guests Mexican cooking. Expect the average entrée to cost between $8 and $12, and plan to fit the scene by dressing casual.

For decades, Dona Maria has become famous for their great tamales (red, green, cheese or a sweet pineapple-and-raisins dessert tamale) plus a variety of Mexican specialties and combination plates. Among the tasty house favorites are the flautas (tortillas filled with beef or chicken and topped with lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream and guacamole) and taquitos (rolled corn tortilla filled with beef... more

With its loud and bustling atmosphere, this freestanding building attracts the downtown business-lunch crowd, as well as Vegas' Mexican community for handmade tamales. An order of half a dozen green (chicken), red (pork) or cheese tamales will more than satisfy two or even three, if everyone's appetite is light. The tamales are the real draw, but the Mexican tortas (sandwiches) also keep the... more

Decorated with Tijuana-style quilt work and calendars, this quintessential Mexican diner is convenient to both the north end of the Strip and Downtown. The cooks use lots of lard, lots of cheese, and lots of sauce. As a result, the food is really good -- and really fattening. Yep, the folks who did those health reports showing how bad Mexican food can be for your heart probably did some... more

A simple review: great chicken tamales, friendly staff, great value for the money, tasty chips and salsa. This place is located at the south end of downtown LV, so go there if you are near the downtown area. It is very casual, and what you would expect from a nondescript building on old LV. Would gladly go again and happily eat too much.

Their tamales are GREAT! They are stuffed with meat. Unlike most tamales that are mostly masa, these are mostly meat. . I tried both the chicken & pork. The chicken were my favorite. We ended up going back the next morning for breakfast. Great Menudo as well.

This is the WORST Mexican food I ever had the misfortune to try and eat. It was swimming in grease. I regurgitated my food at the table! I left and my child and I were sick for days! I called and emailed the management and they didn't even have the courtesy to return my call or email! I didn't get this ill when I ate Mexican Food in Mexico! Take your insurance card because you will be making a... more
