War Room has some of the best weekly club nights in Seattle. I usually find myself staying away from the weekend crowds and checking out the breakdance night on Mondays and the 80's night on Wednesdays with Scene and FourColorZack.

As innovative today as when it opened in 1983, this "power" dining spot for downtown movers and shakers, socialites, and operagoers has never changed the recipe for its famous mussel bisque, baked in a deep crock covered with tender pastry. Owner Paul Dobson generally keeps a close eye on tables in both the downstairs room, where the bar is often packed, and in the upstairs mezzanine, which has...

Tips About This Business
Owner Paul Dobson is known to work the room, so be sure to say hello.
Most walk here from downtown offices or the theatre (both the Civic and Lyceum theatres are just a block away).
Seating in the bar at lunch is like being in the pit on Wall Street. Tables upstairs are a bit more low key.

Dobson's is a power central at lunchtime -- downtown lawyers, politicos and other Eminent Type Personages have done business here since the early '80s while breaking through the pastry crust on the famously delicious mussel bisque. If you think you have no place here, polish your shoes, show up and be proven wrong: Dobson's is renowned for being an exceptionally comfortable place to hang out.

I proposed to my wife in the downstairs booth, right by the bar 30 years ago, when this was still the Press Room. We now come by at least once a year when the Ice Rink is open at Horton Plaza and pig out on cheese, chardonney and the mussle bisque....we love the bar area as well and enjoy listening to the lawyer wanna-be's passing out business cards amonst each other, it's a gas! You are...

Dobson's reminds me of an upscale English pub/bistro. It is very warm and friendly, but not at all stuffy. The staff are relaxed and friendly. Order the steaks here and you won't be disappointed.
As soon as you walk in, there are pictures of former Presidents who have eaten at the restaurant. I would recommend this A class restaurant to anyone. You must try their Mussel Bisque, its all you need to order.
