On weekends there's "always a line out the door" for the "highly addictive" "hearty" breakfasts at this "cheery" Mill Valley American diner that adds Greek specialties at dinner (offered Wednesday–Sunday only); some are turned off by the "noisy" environs and somewhat "spotty" service, adding it's "nothing outstanding", but "sitting outside is pleasant" and "inexpensive" tabs don't hurt either.

Calamari Was so hard to chew. Like eating rubber. I ordered the lamb skewers, way over cooked and full of gristle. I complained to the manager and he had some more made for me that were more tender but no flavor at all. Such a pity. I had high hopes for this place.

Took forever for food to come. It was breakfast, how long does that take to prepare. Maybe they were down a cook or two that day.

The Dipsea Café was named for the seven mile Dipsea trail which begins in downtown Mill Valley, goes up 672 wooden steps, winds up and over Mt. Tam, and ends at Stinson beach.
