One of New York's great Italian stores, with friendly service in this family-owned and -operated store, where you will find plenty of great salumeria, cheeses, prepared foods and other Italian delights. Of the remaining Italian stores on this stretch of Grand Street, Di Palo consistently excels. Do not leave without some fresh mozzarella; the quality is legendary.

I went to DiPalo's on the suggestion of my Aunt who grew up in that neighborhood. the service was great, I was intimidated to orer hearing all the other customers with thier special / specific orders. Even if 25 other people are in the shop you get waited on as if you are the only one there. The owners are excellent business people and very congenial they will go to great lengths to see that you are satisified. The homemade ricotta & mozzarella are delicious. From time to time sheeps milk ricotta is flown in from Rome.
