I love the Detroiter Bar. This is a great place to go and hang out before a Red Wing, or Tiger game. Very casual, bar atmosphere. Staff is quick and attentive. Can get very busy on game day, and they also provide a great shuttle.

Service is always fairly slow, as bartenders talk with their friends while forgetting about those not in their direct eyesight. But it's a good place to plop down before or during a Red Wings/Tigers/college bowl game, as there is a free shuttle to the games. Jukebox gets plenty of action. Typical bar food. Caution....bathrooms have only one toilet. When the place gets crowded, those lines...

We travel to Detroit on a regular basis, and have been referred to the Detroiter many times. On this trip, we stayed in Greektown with plans to go to the Detroiter to watch the NCAA Basketball games and the Redwings game.
