I brought my fiance's 2002 jetta in for a scheduled tune-up and routine oil change in May of 2009. When the dealership called me, they informed me that whomever did the last oil change (speculated Jiffy Lube), had damaged the oil pan to the point they would not perform the oil change until it was repaired because they did not want to be responsible if it was permanently damaged.

I took my 2002 VW in to Deel to replace the oil pan even though it is a 30 minute drive across town. The parts needed to be ordered and I was told to come in on Tuesday of the next week. I went to Deel VW to have repairs made to my VW Cabrio - it was leaking transmission fluid and needed new coolant. Deel made the appropriate repairs - they were a bit expensive but I wanted them certified by VW. Deel suggested a few minor repairs, which I declined.
