Classy and sophisticated, the Hedley Club appeals to those who have moved beyond the meat-market club scene but still like to enjoy a night out. The art deco interior is warm and inviting with a wood-burning fireplace and comfy seating. Live jazz every Friday and Saturday night, too.

Hotel De Anza opened in 1931 during the height of the Depression Era. Built at the then astronomical
cost of $505,000, the hotel became an architectural and social landmark, drawing legendary
celebrities and political figures. The 25 foot "diving lady," painted on the west side of the
building (1951) to advertise the hotel's heated pool, remains a local attraction, as does the rooftop

The Scene No detail is spared, from the 1930s art-deco interior to the crackling fireplace flanked by luxurious palms. Lounging on the plush sofas by lamplight and listening to the grand piano feels more like Paris than Silicon Valley. It only gets more decadent beyond the heavy green curtains leading to the Palm Court Terrace. Neo-gothic fountains illuminated from below throw watery... more

The Russo Alberts Trio on Thursday Night. What a Trio! Those guys are really fantastic. I just moved up here from Los Angeles and am accustomed to hearing first-rate jazz on a regular basis at Catalina, Charlie O's, The Jazz Bakery and Vibrato, and I was completely floored by the Russo Alberts Trio. I've heard them maybe five times now, and those guys sound superb. I will be coming out to hear... more

Great place to lounge

Probably the best thing about the Hedley Club is the live music that they have Thursday-Sunday. It's a great place to get a cappuccino, which I might add is one of the best I have ever had. It's an absolutely wonderful place to just relax and talk with friends, and the decor makes you feel very relaxed. The only downside would be the size, because sometimes it can get a bit too crowded.
