I grew up in a city with a huge art museum, and it was a pleasant surprise to find Dayton's Art Institute on a par with bigger museums. Free parking is a huge perk, and the location is lovely (right by the river for walks on nice days). The Dayton Art Institute is a massive establishment that offers a lot to look at. Admission is mostly free, though there are a few paid specialty exhibits. Staff is incredibly nice, theres a giftshop that has plenty of souvenirs and the chance to view some great art is always a welcome to my weekend!

for being in dayton this museum gets a wide range of traveling art shows, they always have some sort of exhibit or event going on, the october fest is always alot of fun.
