David Cook named his restaurant after the way his name sounds in a French accentas it was when he worked the line at Cincinnatis late great Maisonette. At his own place, he serves some of the most sophisticated food in the city. Its two small dining rooms on Mount Adams filled with art, and staffed by knowledgeable servers. They can tell you what any of the exotic ingredients on Daveeds menu... more

Colorful artwork, an intimate dining room, and extra-attentive service characterize this eatery. An eclectic menu samples international flavors while focusing on traditional American dishes. Highlights include a pan roasted duck breast with garganelli, Vermont cheddar and Matsutake mushrooms; roasted pheasant; and Maine lobster salad with spiced Asian pear. The Scene Decor is hip but understated, with modest artwork on terra-cotta walls. The dining rooms are intimate and cozy without being crowded. What's referred to as the "I-Spy table" is a padded bench against a wall that provides a movie-theater view of the rest of the room--perfect for the casual voyeur. The Food The menu seems short, but this is because it changes... more

Mount Adams, a hilltop neighborhood overlooking Cincinnati, has become home to many good pubs and cafés, including Daveed's at 934, which produces some of the most exciting, visually striking cuisine in the city. Chef-owner David Cook left a job with the city's premier restaurant family to open Daveed's, and it's obvious that he and his wife, Liz, who keeps things convivial at the front of the... more

Bright, clear flavors. Interesting textures. Sophisticated presentations. Witty interpretations. Daveed's chic take on dining is definitely not your momma's meatloaf. Every dish is sophisticated and delicious. And the unique space, a quirky Mount Adams nook, feels like an art gallery. No wonder people rave about this place (AM 02-14-07).

...I've ever had. My girlfriend and I were in Cincy for the night and, based on reviews I found, ate at Daveed's. Everyone was right - this place is great. The pan roasted duck was amazing, and the halibut was exceptional.

expensive but lots of little extras

Daveed's is probably the best place I've been to in Cincinnati. The restaurant is quiet enough to have conversation. The service is professional, if not a little stiff.

The food is expensive, but the portions are large and the chef sends out little extras like a palate cleanser in the beginning and chocolates at the end.

His signature dishes are the foie gras appetizer ($19) and the duck ($26).

Stupendous for Cincy

For Cincy this restaurant is wonderful...yes, there are a few little things that need correcting but my experience has always been great. David Cook is a really innovative chef and it shows. Everything we had was great. The service was a tinge slow but overall pretty good. We showed up on a Sat night at 8 with no reservations and they fit us in. The blue cheese cheesecake was very... more
