Help us make it rightThe decor at Dardanel is dominated by warm, earthy tones peppered with nautical accents. This color scheme seems quite strange for a restaurant that markets itself as a seafood eatery specializing in Mediterranean flavors. However, the menu offerings at Dardenal more than make up for the restaurant's rather unimaginative decor, for they feature a plethora of dishes which betray classic...
Plan on consuming more than the name suggests at this East Side Med, because the kitchen's "authentic" small plates are "very tasty" and "healthy" to boot; a "friendly" staff, affordable tabs and "pleasing" ambiance round out the "enjoyable" package.
Tucked away on First Avenue and East 59th Street, Dardanel makes a fine addition to the handful of good Turkish restaurants in Manhattan.
Chef Marc Sarac has created a menu that reflects both the modern and traditional fare found in the North Aegean and Black Sea regions of Turkey. Named after the straits (the Dardanelles) that connect these two bodies of water, this seafood outpost offers...
This affordable Mediterranean seafood restaurant straddles the line between midtown and the Upper East Side.
Seafood imported from Mediterranean countries like Turkey, Israel and more is the draw at this midtown restaurant.
More than half of the soup had already spilled out by the time I got the food. They didnt have any stuff which I ordered. Delivered food in 90 minutes. They didnt send any spoons. They dont deserve a star and should be taken out of Seamless.
I am working all night and I logged back into Seamless just to let others know know bad this food was!! My avocado had black spots all over it and was slimey. My vegan truffle macaroni tasted like mush, and the chicken meatballs were dry and rubbery, and tasted 3 days old. I would have thrown all of this food out in my own house, and I'm shocked a restaurant would serve any of this.
Wow! I've never written a review on here before, but this place requires special mention. Even though they delivered my food on time (45 minutes) it was very cold. Tastless and bland, the Chipolte Chicken apparently was just glazed with something sugary and brown. Grilled asparagus was cold, soggy and so scrawny I felt bad for it. Hard to believe this place has four stars.
Food was not particularly tastey, and one of my items were forgotten.
Nice food. Interestingly they put some whole chickpeas in the humus--unique!
