Review: Seventeen Seventeen

The King Tut exhibit has put the Dallas Museum of Art back on the map, but what of its restaurant, Seventeen Seventeen? To give the nearly forgotten lunch spot a shot in the arm, the museum brought in quintessential Dallas chef Stephan Pyles. One would expect a museum restaurant to be a beautiful place, and Seventeen Seventeen more than meets expectations. And the food is as lovely as the décor, the only drawback is that it’s open only during the week for lunch. I took my wife, daughter and grandson out for a ""special"" Mother's Day and thought 1717 would be the perfect place for something a little extra, but I was sadly mistaken. The food was good, not great, but adequate. Unfortunately, the service was atrocious. I asked for a mimosa and the waiter completely forgot; my wife's, daughter's and grandson's beverages were never refilled; the plates (buffet) were never bussed and several remained on the table until I finally got a waiter to remove them. My family would never say they were disappointed, but I most certainly was. There were only a...

Harwood St. #2 Dallas Texas 75201-2315 near highway 30 and I35, this hot spot is easy access and offers some of the best of the best fresh to cook food around the Dallas Ft. Worth area. Near the lower part of Downtown area this is a place with the hip crowd and a menu to boot. Prices are great and the food is a major plus. I would suggest...
