Dirty place and food poor

I can't believe this place is rated #1, but because there really aren't any restaurants in Monterey.... That would explain the position. We are visiting family in the area, and since they never ate here, we thought we'd give this local spot a try. We sat ourselves down, and the tables were sticky, decor was old and dingy.... really needs...

A quirky place off of I-40 between Nashville and Knoxville. We bypassed the chains to get come country cooking for our trip home from Nashville. The Cup & Saucer is a family owned diner that's up for sale. When we got there, the waitress ticked off all of the menu items they were out of: biscuits, ham, hash browns, etc....

This is a quaint restaurant but the food is not very good. The couple working there were friendly. Sitting were we did we could view behind the counter and cooking area.....it was very dirty. We would keep driving and not stop here again. Sorry to the friendly couple.
