Stayed all day--walked a lot. We had an excellent guided tour with a park ranger (Dungeness Footsteps Walk.) He was very knowledgeable about the history of the island. The variation of landscape on the walk is incredible and leads to a beautiful beach. We saw the horses (and a foal!) Wear sunscreen, good shoes, and bring a light backpack for...

We toured Cumberland Island National Seashore with a group. The Island is only accessible by boats run by the park service. The island is full of history but has returned to a natural wilderness. It is ideal for hikers, campers or simple day walkers.
