They are dishonest and extremely rude. It seams the staff is especially trained to rip patients off. If you have issues with billing or with your insurance, they are not willing to extend you any courtesy whatsoever. They are absolutely not willing to work with you in order to resolve your billing/insurance issues. Keeping patiens is clearly not the priority here. The goal at Culver Del Rey Dental center is to make you spend as much money out of pocket as they possibly can, even if it includes totally unnecessary dental work.
If there would be an award for the "worst dental office " Culver Del Rey Dental Center would be the winner, no doubt.
If I could, I would give them negative stars. This place is the biggest ripoff / scam in LA! BEWARE! The only way I can see anyone filing a good review about these people is if they filed it themselves!
They stole my money and refuse to refund it! They owe me $1,050. The California Dental Board is now investigating them, and I suggest that if they did the same to you, you contact the Board and file a complaint as well!
In November, 2006, I went to this dental office with a tooth that was chipped off. Their doctor, Paul B. Palmer, DDS, told me that it required multiple procedures, such as filing off the teeth, crown lengthening, gum surgery, root canal and a crown. Their price quote was over $4,000. In the same seating, they proceeded to file down two of my teeth – the one that was chipped off, and the one next to it.
I was then given an appointment for November 13th, 2006 to have a crown lengthening surgery done by Dr. Isaacs. They made me pay $1,050 – for two porcelain crowns to be ordered after the procedure is completed by Dr. Isaacs.
In the meantime, I went to get a second opinion, and the other dentist told me that most of the procedures recommended by Culver Del Rey Dental were easily avoidable, and it was unnecessary to file my other tooth down to that point. The procedure performed unnecessarily by Palmer resulted in my having to get a crown on a tooth that would not have needed it otherwise. (Can you say MALPRACTICE???)
I cancelled my appointment with Dr. Isaacs, and transferred my paperwork to the other doctor. A month later I went in with my husband to complain, and after Palmer's personal review of what happened, his office manager promised to refund the $1,050 – minus a reasonable amount for their "prep work" so far. (Which according to other, REPUTABLE dentists, whould not be more than $200.)
That was three years ago, and I've been running after my money since. Their office manager is very rude and unhelpful and they are unwilling to refund the money for which they never worked!
I paid these people for a procedure that was never performed, but they feel entitled to the money anyway. Just imagine what they are capable of!
STAY AWAY!!! BEWARE!!! These are SCAM ARTISTS!
I need to be honest here. I mostly used this place for cleanings and braces. The guy who does the braces is a perfectionist and I liked him. The guy who did my cleaning may have been a bit too into James Bond, but he did his job well. My issue is with how late they were always running, how they wouldn't let me pre-schedule past 3 months, and how they were always pushing to sell me stuff....
I'm suprised to know that I'm the 1st person writing a review on this Doctor! This guy is sooo cool. Unfortunatley I needed surgery...but I'm glad Dr. Isaacs did it. He explained my treatment in detail...this guy made sure I knew what I was getting done. During the surgery he would make sure I was doing ok and telling me how good of patient I was. The next day he even took the time to call me...
This place is ghetto, they were so mean to my 8 year old, my son was crying during the filling and Dr Navaro wouldn't let me come into the room to calm him down. They have a policy of NO PARENTS...
