Crustacean

Blown Away!

Review Rating
I took my fiance, Bec, to Crustacean for her birthday and I have to say - We Were Both Blown Away. The food was delicious, the service was impeccable, and the restaurant itself is spectacular.

Of course, being a floral designer, I had to make sure that my sweetheart had the perfect flowers for her centerpiece, so I made arrangements with Crustacean to drop off her birthday centerpiece early in the day.

When we arrived, it was first class all the way. They escorted us to our beautifully appointed private table and the flowers were already in place and everything was perfect.

Our server was knowledgeable, friendly, and gave us impeccable service.

I haven't even gotten to the food yet. It was unbelievable. From the lobster appetizer to the crab to the garlic noodles. Everything was absolutely delicious and the servings were ample.

Definitely an evening to remember!

Hailed as the nations best new restaurant by Esquire Magazine when it opened in January 1997, Crustacean Beverly Hills has been lauded ever since by the press worldwide for its' awarding winning Euro-Vietnamese design featuring the now famous "Walk on Water" entrance - a serpentine aquarium that winds through the cocktail lounge of the restaurant, guiding guests to the French Colonial... more

The premises offer a spectacular and evocative setting for a personalized style of Vietnamese food that Los Angelenos have not previously encountered in the dozens of little storefront eateries around the city.In fact Crustacean is a kind of theatrical theme restaurant-a genre Hollywood has adored since the days of the Brown Derby, only here the theme is a reverie of Indochina of the 1930s... more

Greeted by a waterfall and a floor-to-ceiling aquarium as you walk on glass over a stream of koi to the elegance of the main dining room, this restaurant exudes the influences of the sea and Vietnamese cuisine. The menu features such favorites as Chilean Sea Bass, Tiger Prawns with Garlic Noodles, and Lobster in Tamarind Sauce.

This head-turning venue is a surrealistic reproduction of colonial Vietnam. Exotic fish swim in a floor-to-ceiling aquarium and through a glass-topped "river," sunk into the marble floor, that meanders toward the bar. The French-influenced Southeast Asian menu might include lemongrass-scented bouillabaisse or salmon in a ginger emulsion. From the restaurateur's "secret kitchen," in which only... more

Koi stream underfoot, reed fans, mellow terrace. Zen broken by noisy, stuffed room and aloof service. Primo spot to eat like Vietnamese royalty, which owners, the An family, happen to be. Food slays its numerous haters though they are correct about prices and scandalous surcharges. For seven bucks, we'll crack our own highly addictive Dungeness crab in pepper garlic sauce, thank you. No wonder... more

Over-prices, lousy tasteless Vietnamese food at Beverly Hills level... yeah... Beverly Hills level.. for people who have the American Express Centurion card. Otherwises, save your money and travel 405 South to Little Saigon at Westminster and get the same kind of cooking or even better taste at half the price in cash. Furthermore, the Koi floor tank is getting old and dirty and no big deal!!!

surprising good attitude by the staff. high noise quotient. do your little ones a favor and leave them at home, they'd really rather be eating pizza regardless of what you think.
