This hotel is in the historic City Hall Annex, and the original brass, copper, and bronze details on the elevators and staircases have been lovingly refinished. It's across the street from its sister property, the Philadelphia Marriott; both provide easy access to the Pennsylvania Convention Center. The hotels share some facilities -- meeting rooms, for example. We stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott this past weekend. We loved it! We stayed away from the valet parking, it seemed awefully chaotic. The staff was very friendly. Our room was spotless! We had the breakfast buffet. It was delicious and priced right. The hotel is very close to the Reading Terminal Market and other restaurants. The Courtyard downtown is a beautiful hotel. I was there for a meeting and the employees are so friendly. The food was absolutely fantastic. Would highly recommend this place.

This restored building across the street from City Hall is a very unusual Courtyard. The lobby and public areas are far more extensive and upscale than usual. What isn't is staff, which were in very short supply. Front desk, business center, and valet parking were all understaffed. Even the bar area had only one server on duty at prime time.
