When the Matthews, NC Consignment 1st was at Independence and Sam Newel it was a place you could go in and find gently used furniture for great prices. They have since moved to Independence near 485.

My daughter and I were in there recently looking for things she could furnish an apartment with. We were greatly disappointed. Almost every piece of furniture we looked at said either "new" or "sample" meaning these are pieces of furniture that someone or some company makes and sells there. First off, I would like to say that after reading the other reviews, most of these aren't directed to the location represented, but other franchised locations (that are now closed) and there's another consignment shop near this one with a similar name. That being said, I love Consignment 1st in Charlotte off of E. Independence Blvd. I believe it's 11 miles south from uptown. The employees have always been very friendly and helpful to me and the owners have been in the business for almost 30 years. They are very knowledgable in knowing how to price my items to sell so that I can make money...

dave came in and started packing things. it took all day. he never gave me an inventory that day. i had taken pictures of everything that was left after i had her sale so i would know what was left. i specifically handed dave a box full of inkwells 21 to be exact. he said he never got them so i never got paid for them. all in all i was very unhappy with them.
