If you don't have time to read this just open your account with CSE or ask people that have ever had trouble and felt it was resolved fairly with their credit union. Another one I like a lot is the Brewster credit union. They are kind of out of the way but their people make it worthwhile. CSE is big and the lines can be long, while Brewster is small, fair and the employees are sweet.
This credit union takes advantage of the term credit union. They have all the low rates like all the other credit unions. The one thing they don't have is a heart. This company hides its horrible ethics by offering all the stuff other credit union’s offer. They do not care if you overdraw your account for any reason. The big banks will because we all make mistakes. Sometimes forms get lost by your insurance agents that you fill out to change your automatic withdrawal date to better fit your budget. That was my case. They just don’t care. I couldn’t believe it. Read this credit unions terms and conditions and take note of how they take advantage of your deposits. Also look at how they give you the short end of the stick with interest on deposits held that they don't trust but end up going through just fine. The teller is always nice but if you have a complaint - then you’re dealing with people you don't ever see. Trust me, if you sit in front of one of them they will look at you with disgust and that’s only when they are looking at you. A lot of times it seemed the one lady was looking at the wall behind my head and not even focused on my concern. The only concern she had was to tell me that she didn’t have to do anything and fell on the terms. Don’t ever let them tell you anything. They follow their terms, which excuse them from doing anything nice that a “community” credit union is known for. For your sake I hope you don’t let them fool you. Also take note of what it says about the order of transactions posted for the day. At any time they can post the larger transactions first and make all the small ones bounce and charge more overdraft fees.
