I am sorry to hear that you are having trouble with Chase. We have had problems since the day they bought out the original mortgage company. Since that day all we do is receive letters saying we are in default but they cash our checks. They then tell us that they are holding the money in "suspense" even though it always more than our actual payment. This has been going on for eight months now....
I have called Chase regarding our loan after they have started returning our payments long after they were due. They stated the payments were not enough to cover the past due. At the end of Jan 2012 we called again and were told to send 3 months payment and that would take us out of default. That day my husband sent 3 payments certified mail which were signed for on 1/30. They just might do this again, in the future. If this was not something you requested or authorized, then there is nothing to stop them from repeating the same charge, all over again. You might consider changing credit cards, and transfering any remaining debt. Some places give a discount interest rate for the transfer. You shouldn't have a problem age wise either.
